The software which is used is a simple spreadsheet software, and the process modelling technique is based on the Business Process Modelling Notation (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.processorientation.com\/?tag=bpmn\">BPMN<\/a>).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Roles \/ departments are modelled as so-called swim lanes.<\/li>\n<li>Within a swim lane, the role\u2019s activities are positioned.<\/li>\n<li>Activities are connected with arrows.<\/li>\n<li>Furthermore, IT tools which support certain activities may also be depicted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An Excel-based example can be downloaded <a href=\"http:\/\/www.processorientation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Spreadsheet-process-modelling.xlsx\">here<\/a>. Process elements can be easily arranged in the grid holding the ALT key while dragging the elements.
